New Vampire Weekend Album “In Progress Now”

It’s been a long two years since the release of 2010’s Contra, and rumors have been floating around for months about a third Vampire Weekend album. Finally the New York four-piece has shed some light on the long-awaited new record. In a soon-to-be-printed interview, Bassist Chris Baio told NME that the new album is “in progress now,” that they have already completed “many songs” and that there is no release date yet because “it’ll be done when it’s done.”

The bassist will release a debut solo EP under the “Baio” moniker on May 21 via Greco Roman. Rostam Batmanglij is also working on his own solo album under the “Rostam” moniker and Ezra Koenig appears throughout Major Lazer’s forthcoming sophomore LP. [FACT]
