After a string of festival dates throughout Europe this summer, Yale-dropout Dave Longstreth and co. are headed back to the US for a fourteen-day trek of North American clubs, in addition to a slot in this years Lollapalooza in Chicago. After the release of its superb Bitte Orca, Dirty Projectors have been in high demand as a live act. With its expanded six member live lineup—including members Angel Deradoorian and Amber Coffman—the group builds upon their jauntily asymmetrical song structures and pop and R&B flourishes to elevate them to arena-sized anthems. On the road, a rather multifarious motley crew of openers, including Final Fantasy mastermind Owen Pallett, recent Sub Pop alums Happy Birthday, and eighteen year old “Show My Ass” rapper Dominique Young Unique, will join the Projectors.
