New old Retribution Gospel Choir: "Breaker"

Retribution Gospel Choir is the side project of Low's Alan Sparhawk. The band's first full album, a self-titled affair that was produced by Mark Kozelek, is slated for release March 18 on Kozelek's own Caldo Verde Records. This song from the album, "Breaker," will be familiar to Low fans. It was one of the standout tracks on Low's dark, devastating album from last year, Drums and Guns. But the song actually dates back further than that. It originally saw the day on a Retribution Gospel Choir tour EP. Whereas the Drums and Guns version was more subtle and gentle, this version is more like how Low performs the song in concert: guitars cranked up, Sparhawk screaming at a world full of endless violence. Whatever way it's played, "Breaker" proves haunting.
