Carl Newman and the rest of his Canuck friends in The New Pornographers make me forgive Canadians for everything I don't like about them. (Damn free healthcare.) The power-pop perfectionists are nearing completion of their next album, the follow-up to 2005's Twin Cinema. Keyboardist Blane Thurier told Chart Attack the band laid down tracks in Vancouver and are working on mixing them in New York City. They hope for a Spring release.
