New Music From Grizzly Bear: “Yet Again”

Grizzly Bear are back with a new single, “Yet Again,” off their upcoming album Shields. This is their first release since 2009’s Veckatimest, so expectations are high, and “Yet Again” is an excellent first offering. Edward Droste’s angelic vocals layer with harmonies, warped organs and that signature underwater guitar sound. It starts as a traditional pop song (choruses, bridges) but ends with a section of distorted, disjointed guitar and bass. If every song on Shields is going to maintain this balance of complexity and listenability, we’ll have a lot to look forward to. Shields is out on September 17; listen to “Yet Again” below.
