Via: Billboard Emily Haines spoke to Billboard about Metric's next album, which the band began did some preliminary work on in a Seattle studio this month. According to Haines, it's already clear that her solo album Knives Don't Have Your Back is influencing the work on this album. "I can already see how my work on 'Knives' has affected the direction of the next Metric record, which is cool," said Haines about the Seattle sessions. "We're making up lots of music in a bit mellower vibe. It's always nice to check yourself, see if you can explore different moods as a writer. But we'll probably do so many songs, who knows how the final record will sound." The group is currently on break for the holidays, after which time both the band and Haines herself have tour commitments. After the respective tours, the band plans on starting up again in earnest.
