Liars’ excellent Drum's Not Dead is sure to feature on many albums-of-the-decade lists at the end of this year, and it appears they are going to start the next 10 years with another release. An album, possibly titled Sisterworld, will be released on Mute in early 2010, and is being trailed by this mysterious website.
The release was cryptically announced via the Liars MySpace page, which links to the Sisterworld site. Once there, a set of videos are available to view, which are either beach of woods themed, but offer no clue as to the direction the music will take. There is also a link back to the official Liars site from Sisterworld, but that’s mostly just selling merch at present.
Tiny Mix Tapes is confirming the album is titled Sisterworld, although no official word on that appears to be available just yet. Either way, it’s caused the necessary buzz about the album that Liars/Mute were hoping to generate, and the OneThirtyBPM site has very kindly captured the videos from Sisterworld and put them on YouTube.
