Three years after dropping his debut, Joell Ortiz will deliver his follow-up, Free Agent, March 23 on E1 Music. He will be joined by a plethora of guests, which include Brother Ali, Bun B, Styles P, Talib Kweli, and his Slaughterhouse crew of Royce Da 5'9", Joe Budden, and Crooked I. The production line-up looks equally as fierce with DJ Premier, Sean C and LV, Statik Selektah, MoSS, and DJ Khalil all providing beats for the Brooklyn MC.
The only troubling part about all this is that albums with a list of characters like that tend to be sprawling messes. It's difficult to craft a cohesive project when so many people are involved. But Ortiz might be able to hold it together. He's a pretty strong lyricist with a unique voice who definitely held his own on that Slaughterhouse record.
