Sony's Legacy imprint has announced that it is releasing Valleys of Neptune, a collection of 12 unreleased tracks from Jimi Hendrix, in March. The 12 tracks were recorded right before Hendrix broke up the Jimi Hendrix Experience, and right after he joined up with Billy Cox. Most of the tracks were recorded in 1969, at the height of Hendrix's power, and were unearthed in his recording vaults recently. The set will also include some live rarities, like "Hear My Train Coming," an original blues composition that Hendrix performed often but never recorded. In addition, the title track will be released as a single on Feb. 2. [Daily Swarm]
No leaks yet?
my jaw kinda dropped when i heard this. finished unreleased hendrix tracks. unbelievable. I thought for sure all those posthumous compilations had drained the vaults, but apparently there's mad material waiting to see the light of day.
yeah, this is hard to believe but awesome.
Totally. I want to hear it now.
