Last week, it was revealed that the NBA was investigating Jay-Z's visit to the University of Kentucky locker room after the teams win the NCAA tournament over the University of North Carolina. The investigation stemmed from the fact that Jigga is a minority owner of the New Jersey Nets and, per league law, he's not allowed to be in contact with amateur players until they declare for the draft. Well, it turns out the NBA took the matter pretty seriously and have fined the Nets $50,000 for Jay-Z's visit, according to ESPN. It's chump change for the team and Jay, but hey, it's still kind of interesting that they had to cough up money for what looked like a totally innocent visit.
yeah that's nothing to Jay. I thought they'd do something bigger given how strict the NBA is
I just hope he pays it and not the team. What an idiot. But 50 gs is pretty hefty in nba fines. Most similar ones were 30 I think
