Fresh Apple gadget rumors are afoot. Wired Magazine claimed in a recent blog post that Apple is gearing up to release a new version of the iPod Touch, which is said to come equipped with a camera and microphone. Although Apple spokespeople are keeping mum about the new toy, Wired has it under authority that the new iPods are already getting punched out by the dozen in China, Apple's manufacturing homeland. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect to the new iPod Touch would be that with its WiFi capabilities and a microphone, the iPod could easily produce voice-to-voice communication (via Skype or even Verizon's kitchy new portable WiFi provider, MiFi), thus morphing the iPod into an iPhone. Wired's knowledgable source also says that the new iPod Touch should be made available in a matter of months. Start saving your pennies! [Wired]
