New iPhone App Lets Users Remix Songs

The iPhone app store is helping to shape the way we listen to and record music. A recently announced auto-tune application is among the forthcoming innovations for Apple’s revolutionary gadget, and now an album has been released that is specifically designed for iPhone usage.

Deadmau5 is a Grammy nominated electronica artist who has teamed up with a company named Future Audio Workshop to release his new album. Anyone with an iPhone can mix and remix tracks from the Deadmau5 album after downloading it to their phone. The album and the app are bundled together in a package that only costs $3, and if you don’t like how it sounds, you can add effects, change the BPM, cross fade and loop elements of the record until it’s your own little masterpiece. It may even make the vaunted Limp Bizkit comeback sound good.

This is just the first of many proposed albums that will contain similar remixable features, making the iPhone seems more and more desirable as each day passes. Screen shots and further commentary on the functionality of this unique application are all available over at Wired.

This is a good idea. Curious to see what other albums come out with the ability to have them remixed on the iPhone.
