The touring duties for Grizzly Bear’s excellent second record Yellow House seemed like they were never going to end. The group members have finally parked their van and got off the road to prepare for the release of their third album, which is due in the early part of 2009. Singer Ed Droste has been talking to Drowned in Sound about the as-yet untitled record, which he says has got “more variety, higher highs and lower lows.”The band has again worked with producer Chris Taylor and has decamped to a number of studios, including one set up in Droste’s family retreat in Cape Cod. According to the interview, the band is currently mixing the album, and Droste says it “looks on schedule for an April or May release.” Forthcoming highlights for the band also include a show with a full orchestra, which takes place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on February 29, 2009. The concert will also feature an appearance from Final Fantasy.
