The Toronto-based purveyors of pretty, hushed country-folk Great Lake Swimmers' next album Ongiara will arrive in the U.S. in May. Here's where American exceptionalism isn't the rule: we'll have to wait, as Canada gets the album on March 27th and Europe in April. Main Swimmer Tony Dekker calls the new material "arresting" and says it "makes people pay attention to how dark it is." Guests on the album will include Owen Pallett, aka Final Fantasy, and singer-songwriter Serena Ryder. The only known tour dates for now in support of the album all take place in Canada.
