UK new wavers Depeche Mode have a lot of plans for the next few months. The band has apparently made some serious progress on a follow-up to 2009’s Sounds of the Universe. Gahan recently told SPIN, “We’ve probably got 20 songs demoed … some of the songs are in really good shape, some need some more work, but we’re definitely on track…. We have a deadline of the end of November, and there’s no reason why we won’t meet that at the rate we’re going.” The band has yet to announce the album’s release date, title or any other details.
The band has, however, confirmed plans to go on tour in support of the still mysterious 13th full-length. Gahan told SPIN, “There are already plans to be touring next year.” There’s no word yet on dates or locations of that tour. [SPIN]
