New Broken Social Scene Album Due Out On May 4

Pitchfork has a heck of a news item up today: Broken Social Scene are set to release their fourth album on May 4 via longtime label Arts & Crafts. Its the band's first LP since 2005's self-titled effort (which seems like it came out 15 years ago, am I right?) and will feature contributions (but not lengthy ones, since the band proper is down to six members) from all the people that have spun out of the BSS orbit to their own careers since, like Feist, Amy Millan, Emily Haines, Jason Collett and others. The album was produced by John McEntire, who is a member of Tortoise and Sea and Cake, which maybe means there's some post-rock lined up for this, as of yet untitled, album.

Andross, thank you for the best news story of the day (sandwiched unfairly between all kinds of grammy crap).

I'm not knocking the quality of the grammy stories...just saying this is way awesomer.
