Damon Albarn isn’t going to ease up on his workload in 2011, despite the fact that he has spent this year touring the Gorillaz album Plastic Beach, and has another record by that band due on Christmas Day. Now, it looks like Albarn is going back to his first love, as a U.K. tabloid is reporting Blur is set to record a new album.
Naturally, this is only at the rumor stage, and no official comment has been made by the group yet. But the Sun’s unnamed source says: “There's no concrete plans regarding what they will do with the material, but if they're all agreed it could become the first full Blur album to feature all four members in over a decade.”
The source claims that Blur has studio time booked in January, with a mooted end-of-year release for the record penciled in. File this one away in the we'll-believe-it-when-we-see-it department, although the workaholic Albarn will certainly want to do something with his time in the New Year.
