They've already announced plans to score an upcoming independent film, but on March 9, Jagjaguwar records will issue The Besnard Lakes latest full-length The Besnard Lakes Are The Roaring Night. This will be the third album overall for the Montreal-based group centered around husband and wife duo Olga Goreas and Jace Lasek, following 2007's Polaris Music Prize nominated The Besnard Lakes Are The Dark Horse.
The record will be preceeded by the release of album track "Albatross" on 12-inch vinyl Feb. 9 with an exclusive B-side. Are The Roaring Night promises a narrative structure -- replete with multi-part songs and breathless press release exhortations about "guitar epics" and "wall[s] of drone" -- centered around two spies communicating with shortwave radio. The record was mixed with the same console used on portions of Led Zeppelin's classic Physical Graffitti LP.
