
A few tantalizing details about the new Arcade Fire album slipped out accidentally earlier this week, and now a couple of other tidbits have emerged. The followup to Neon Bible is nearing completion according to this Billboard report, and is tentatively scheduled for a May release.
But we won’t have to wait that long for new Arcade Fire material—a single will be issued ahead of the album, and all of that activity will be followed by some major bouts of touring. Billboard believes that the band is set to headline some major festivals in North America in the summer.
It’s been a while since Arcade Fire’s last live performance—Jan. 21 at the Obama Campaign Staff Ball was the last time—but it looks likely that their enforced hibernation is set to end in the near future. No track names or details are yet known, but Coldplay/Bjork producer Markus Dravs has worked on the record.
