They’ve been more or less quiet since the hubbub around their widely-acclaimed 2010 album The Suburbs calmed down, but it looks like Arcade Fire might have been making some secretive visits to the studio in recent months. According to a fan-run Twitter feed, Mercury Records has confirmed that the band’s fourth studio album will be released sometime in 2013.
There’s been no word from Merge, the label that carried the band’s first three records in the U.S., nor from the band itself. But given that Arcade Fire’s previous records have all been released three years apart, the math says we’re due for another one soon.
Arcade Fire recently released two new tracks for The Hunger Games soundtrack, “Abraham’s Daughter” and “Horn of Plenty.” No word either on whether these songs will be making a repeat appearance on the next LP.
