New Animal Collective EP on the way

Always a band known for churning out new material at a prolific speed, Animal Collective is set to release a new EP entitled Water Curses on May 6 via Domino. The four song set, which will also be available on 12" vinyl, reportedly finds the band in a more stripped-down mode compared to last year's big, ebullient Strawberry Jam. The first three songs, the title track, "Street Flash," and "Cobwebs," all come from the same sessions in Tucson, Arizona, that the songs on Strawberry Jam came out of. Closer "Seal Eyeing" was recorded and mixed by Nicolas Vernhes at his Rare Book Room Studio in Brooklyn.

As of now, Animal Collective's only two scheduled North American live dates are April 25 at Coachella and August 8 at All Points West.
