Nets Owner Jabs Knicks Owner Over His Height

After moving from New Jersey to Brooklyn with a new logo and improved, the Nets have started to stake their claim as the team to beat in New York. The Knicks haven't taken to kindly to their intercity rivals' bold proclamations and Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov fired another insult at New York’s senior basketball team, this time at their owner.

Having announced during his introductory news conference in 2010 that "we will turn Knicks fans into Nets fans," Prokhorov took things a step further in an interview with New York Magazine. In the piece, which highlighted the team’s plans for the upcoming season, the 6-foot-8 Nets owner mocked Knicks owner James Dolan’s height, calling him “that little man.”

This is the latest in a long line of back-and-forth between the teams and no matter what happens on the court (both should be playoff teams), the PR battle should rage on for years to come, which could be more entertaining than their play on the hardwood floor.
