MTV is reporting that N.E.R.D, the band form of production duo the Neptunes, will potentially be releasing their third album, N*R*D*3 by Spring of 2008. Having received critical acclaim for both of their prior releases, Neptunes and N.E.R.D front man Pharrell Williams indicates that this album could be the one that features the experimental sound that has turned the Neptunes from talented hip hop producers to genre bending artists.
Williams described the album as ''"a Red Bull with growth hormones in it,''" and went on to say, "[Fly or Die] was too consistent''¦That's true. I'm known for being all over the place. This [new] album took a few years to make in terms of collecting the right records for it. Creating [music] at the keyboards is like going fishing. You fish for it every day. And you either get it or you don't get it...sometimes I have to wait.''" If the group does, in fact, intend to deliver an album that is not only musically capable but also sonically diverse, we could be looking at an early contender for album of the year this Spring.

Awesome. I still loved IN SEARCH OF... and I though the 2nd record was decent. Pharrell's solo album left a bit to be desired, so I think a return to the earlier sound is welcome.Anyone have the original Euro version of IN SEARCH OF? I never tracked it down, only have the US re-release.
