There once was a time when everyone and their cousin Marvin wanted to get behind the wheels of a DeLorean DMC-12, arguably the biggest fad in automotive history this side of The Homer. That time has clearly passed, but for those whose nostalgia for '80s pop culture goes to no end, there's now one plus side of your ridiculousness: You can see Neon Neon for free.
The indie-electronic hybrid of Boombip and Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals are launching a European tour, with stops at the Accelarator and Glastonbury Festivals. But on July 6, they will be performing in the Hearn Street Car Park in London, and all the cool kids will definitely be droppin' DMC-12s like it's hot (and economical!). Of course, if you want to enjoy the thrills of free Neon Neon and don't own a DeLorean, you can always have one shipped from Texas. The band will also be releasing a "double N-sided single" featuring the tracks "I Told Her on Alderaan" and "Trick for Treat." It's due out in the U.K. on July 14.
