Quirky songbird Nellie McKay is slated to release her third album, Obligatory Villagers, September 25 on her own Hungry Mouse label. McKay, who has recently been starring in a Broadway revival of The Threepenny Opera, recorded the new album in a small studio in the Poconos. Guests on the album include Bob Dorough, who lent his voice to many of the classic Schoolhouse Rock cartoons, as well as jazz instrumentalists David Liebman and Phil Woods. Obligatory Villagers is the follow up to last year's label-dustup-causing Pretty Little Head. Follow on after the jump for the album's tracklist.Mountain Sessions Enliven New McKay Album (Billboard)
