National announce new album track listing, NYC dates

Yesterday the blogosphere started a'buzzin about the new National album when we learned it has a name (Boxer), cover art (at left), and a release date (May 22nd on Beggar's Banquet). Now we also know the album's tracklisting, and that The National will play a four-night stint at the Bowery Ballroom in late May. Specific dates and who they're playing with below; Boxer track listing after the jump.

[...] As opposed to all the local L.A. news I’ve been reporting lately. But this isn’t about democratic presidential candidates, bad weather, or stock market worries. No, this is National news with a capital N. As in the band the National. In a week in which we’ve learned about their new album, Boxer, out May 22nd on Beggar’s Banquet, its cover art and tracklisting, and a four-night concert run the band will put in at the Bowery Ballroom, Billboard has news of a slew of guests that will appear on the album. The biggest name would have to be none other than Mr. Sufjan Stevens, who tickles the ivories on “Ada” and “Racing Like a Pro.” Padma Newsome of Clogs adds some instrumental arrangements. Thomas Barlett of Doveman, who will open one of National’s Bowery shows, also adds some keyboard work. And singer-songwriter Marla Hansen contributes vocals to many of the tracks.            [...]
