This is all in the rumor phase at this point, but there are reports floating around the net that Nas is close to a deal with Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music clique. I heard this first last week, but this video over at MTV is being cited as proof that a deal is near, since Nas bends over backwards to praise Kanye in a way he usually doesn't promote other artists (except AZ). It wouldn't be so outlandish, given that Nas has had public battles with Def Jam, and he previously joined Murder Inc. He's one of the few rappers who never really had a group to go to (except for the Firm, I guess), so he's like the journeyman free agent. And G.O.O.D. is as hot as it gets right now. But I guess we'll have to wait and see. [MTV]
Andross has those Chris Broussard like inside scoops! This would be an interesting move I think. Those two tracks Kanye had on The N were two of the better ones, although nothing great to speak of overall. I just watched that "The Pledge" video the other day too with Nas and Murder Inc. I don't know if he ever actually signed with them though.
Would make a lot of sense for both sides
Kanye talk about how he wanted to do a good friday with Nas and wanted to call the song "futuristic G's". Sign him, add Jay-Z to the track and add to the Watch the Throne album.
