Goddamnit, I had a feeling something like this would happen after Nas said he was focusing on his new album and not a second Lost Tapes project. But I thought he might, you know, hold off on it for a few years and not just scrap the compilation entirely. Because of an apparent lack of communication and complications with Def Jam, though, Nas has canceled the release of The Lost Tapes: Vol. 2. I can only imagine this also means the planned third volume is also scrapped now, too.
He explains a bit more of just why he had to call off the project in the above interview, though the following excerpt kind of sums it up:
"The timing for that (The Lost Tapes: Vol. 2) is gone. When I wanted to drop that ... that time has been gone and now, it's just all about the new record."
Well shit, Nas, I think I speak for all your fans when I say that the timing for it has definitely not passed.
