Napster Loses Another Court Case

    Napster is still around to be kicked by the courts system: It lost another court case this week when a New York court found that the company couldn’t sue Rounder Records for legal fees stemming from a 2006 case. Napster had entered into a deal with Rounder that gave Napster the rights to Rounder releases, but there was a suit brought by a different company (MSC Music America) against Napster for copyright infringement, and it included tracks that Napster had rights to through Rounder. Napster settled with MSC, but sought legal fees from Rounder due to the copyright confusion. But the court found that Napster can’t sue. So yet again, Napster has lost to a record company for the umpteenth time. [HR}
