Nada Surf Reveals Track List For Covers Album, if I had hi-fi, Out June 8

Nada Surf recorded if I had hi-fi in 2008 as a way to get producer and collaborator Louie Lino to tour with them on keyboards. “Would it help if we gave you a raise?” vocalist and guitarist Matthew Caws asked Lino. “Well, what would help,” he answered, “is if you would do some recording here.”

He was referring to his Resonate Studios in Austin, TX. The resulting covers album, recorded over three weeks, is out June 8 on Mardev Records. Judging from their rendition of Bill Fox’s “Electrocution” (which you can download here), the eclectic range of songs will get an invigorating indie pop treatment. Album guests include Holly Miranda and Calexico’s Martin Wenk.

Concert-goers can get a copy from the merch table months before the release during Nada Surf’s upcoming tour, which starts at the Bowery Ballroom in New York and finishes at Washington’s Sasquatch Music Festival. Tour dates and track list are below.
