Indie rock survival story Nada Surf will definitely be alive and kicking in the next few months. The band kicks off a U.S. tour tomorrow (October 13) in Philadelphia. And there's now a set date for the band's next album. It's entitled Lucky, and will land February 5 via Barsuk. As we told you about back here, the album is chock full of elite indie guests including Ben Gibbard, John Roderick of the Long Winters, Ed Harcourt, and Phil Wandscher, who plays guitar for Jesse Sykes' Sweet Hereafter. A new song from the album, "See These Bones," can be heard at the band's MySpace. With this flurry of activity, one might even say the band is quite...popular. Rim shot! Groan. Follow on after the jump for the details on both Nada Surf's Fall '07 Tour Dates and another short run of shows the band will put in closer to Lucky's release in '08... 10/13 Philadelphia, PA - Johnny Brenda's 10/15 Columbus, OH - Basement 10/16 Cincinnati, OH - 20th Century 10/17 Louisville, KY - Jim Porters 10/18 Indianapolis, IN - Birdy's 10/19-20 Chicago, IL - Schuba's 10/22 St. Louis, MO - Gargoyle Club 10/23 Nashville, TN - Exit Inn 10/24 Birmingham, AL - Bottletree 10/26 Tampa, FL - State Theatre 10/27 St. Augustine, FL - Cafe Eleven 10/29 Athens, GA - 40 Watt Club 10/30 Asheville, NC - Orange Peel 10/31 Carrboro, NC - Cat's Cradle 11/1 Charlottesville, VA - Satellite Ballroom 11/2 Baltimore, MD - 8x10 1/30 Seattle, WA - Triple Door (acoustic show) 1/31 Portland, OR - Doug Fir (acoustic show) 2/2 San Francisco, CA - Swedish American Hall (acoustic show) 2/7 New York, NY - Music Hall of Williamsburg 2/8 New York, NY - Bowery Ballroom
I'm sure the band must love that everyone keeps using the word 'popular' every time they're mentioned even 12 years later. Hooray!
