MySpace Music actually launches

After a few weeks of speculation, MySpace Music has finally launched, bridging the profits of MySpace (everyone’s least favorite social networking site) with the major music labels (everyone’s least favorite American corporate bloc… except maybe investment banks).

The site doesn’t really look that much different than a regular MySpace page, but the ads that are supporting the site are rather prevalent, as are the plugs for buying the material on the site at Amazon (which is reportedly how the majors think they’ll make the most money: people buying stuff on Amazon because of seeing it on MySpace Music.)

Whether or not this will help either party regain some of its lost luster is highly debatable, but this could represent a new way for labels to make money in dwindling times. Go here to check it out.
