Myspace is predicting the top ten hot U.K. bands/artists for 2008 based on its study called Myspace08, in which the web site analyzed its users' activity.
"The Myspace08 report examines the way we connect people, content and culture and identifies some interesting musical trends and genres that we'll be watching out for in 2008," Myspace's Dom Cook told the NME.
It also made predictions on several genres that will be most popular this year: Toystep/Joystick Jungle, Bassline, Tape Music, Acousmatic, IDM and Screamo (didn't this one come and go already?).
And apparently you and your BFF are going to be dressing like twins all this year, a trend that Myspace has named "Double Dressers."
The hottest acts of 2008:
01. Partyshank
02. Peggy Sue and The Pirates
03. Riuven
04. Naz T Da Younger
05. Tape Deck
06. Conan and the Mockisans
07. Ebony Bones
08. Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong
09. Dead Disco
10. Make Me A Model

Why didn't they just name this "acts we are gonna push on our front page all year?".
Still, at least I've now been told what I am going to listen to and how I'm gonna dress for the next year. Panic over...
