My Morning Jacket drop new songs at private party in Austin

My Morning Jacket unofficially kicked off SXSW last night with a bag full of new songs at a private party for the Independent Film Channel. The songs are slated to be on upcoming album Evil Urges.

Those songs performed last night include "Highly Suspicious," "Touch Me I'm Going to Scream Part 2," "Aluminum Park," and "Thank You Too," among others. In the we-can't-believe-they-opened category, Yo La Tengo went on before MMJ for a 45-minute set. The two bands will team up again on Thursday night for their official SXSW show at the Austin Music Hall. Evil Urges is due June 10
