My Brightest Diamond to shine on second album

The Shara Worden-led musical act My Brightest Diamond has announced plans for the band's sophomore full-length. The follow-up to 2006's Bring Me the Workhorse, it keeps with the animal kingdom theme with the name A Thousand Shark's Teeth. It's slated for a June 17 release on Asthmatic Kitty, the label of Worden's good friend Sufjan Stevens. Worden grabbed from disparate sources to craft the album, as "Black and Costaud" features lyrics lifted from an opera by Maurice Ravel, while "Like a Sieve" samples a Tricky song. Shark's Teeth was recorded in New York City, Los Angeles, and Berlin and mixed by Husky Hoskulds, who has worked with Elvis Costello and Tom Waits.
