Greg Kot may be my new best friend. The 18 year rock critic of the Chicago Tribune released an article today called, “5 Things You Can Learn About…My Bloody Valentine.” Kot has many wonderful things to say about My Bloody Valentine’s mystic, such as guitars sounding like “evoked washing machines in a spin-cycle frenzy or the droning of television test patterns.”
It's an interesting and quick look at a band whose obscurity have only made them more successful and why they are worthy of all this praise.
But, maybe more importantly, this is Greg Kot’s love for beautiful pop sounds wrapped in noise. It makes for a very interesting, diary entry for a school boy’s crush. [Via: LHB]
