Musicians Performing At The Olympics Won’t Get Paid

We all know how much of a money suck the Olympics is. Between the hosting city’s expenditures, promotions, and entertainment costs…wait, what? You say the musicians involved with the Olympics have been told that they may not receive a check for performing at the opening and closing ceremonies, or any of the Games events? That can’t be true…

But it is. According to Corporate Watch, the London 2012 organizing committee is asking musicians to play “for the exposure.” Really? Attendees have to give a limb to afford tickets to the Games, and it can’t even pay its performers?!
