Murs To Curate Hip-Hop Shows At L.A. County Museum Of Art

Hip-hop polymath Murs will curate a program of concerts at the L.A. County Museum Of Art. This is not his first time co-ordinating shows: Murs already masterminds the Paid Dues Festival in California. But, according to the rapper’s video introduction (below), Through the Mic will have an educational edge that explores “the idea of hip-hop.”

Murs will take over the museum on the third Thursday of each month between May 17 and October 18. The first show features the curator’s own group, 3MG, with Argentine-Korean rapper Dumbfoundead set to appear in June. After that the series will be thrown open to a host of other L.A.-based hip-hop acts.

Tickets for the first shows are available now from LACMA, and you can watch Murs explain the project below. [Fact]
