Mum Want You to Sing Along to Songs You Don’t Know

Sing Along to Songs You Don’t Know, Mum’s fifth full-length and second since the departure of Kristín Anna Valtýsdóttir (a.k.a. Kría Brekkan), will see American release through the band’s own Euphono Records on September 22. Whereas 2007’s Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy was a rather spritely affair, the new album is described as “more relaxed and quietly sad,” apparently as a response to  “Iceland’s recent political turmoil and uprising.” It was recorded in some pretty far-flung places, including Finland and Estonia, where they got some help from the Estonian Suisapäisa mixed choir.
