MTVU, bands team to help Darfur

MTV teaming up with college kids for something called "Campus Invasion" sounds like an excuse for drunken debauchery. But such is not the case with this year's installment of MTVU's Campus Invasion tour. The traveling extravaganza, which will visit three cities, will help raise money and awareness for the ongoing crisis in Darfur. Proceeds from the shows will benefit the Save Darfur Coalition, and the organization will have a booth at the concerts where young people can learn more about what they can do to help Darfur.
The first show goes down at The Backyard in Austin April 22 and will feature the Shins, the Rapture, Shiny Toy Guns, and the Academy Is. The April 27 show at the Hi Fi Buys Amphitheatre in Atlanta is hip-hop-centric, with Rick Ross, Fabolous, Rich Boy, and DG Yolla. And April 29 at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia has Dashboard Confessional, K-os, Kenna, Gym Class Heroes, Augustana, and Kidz in the Hall.
