MTV2's 120 Minutes Returns July 30

With good reason, MTV's 120 Minutes program just won't stay dead. The program, which has long been dedicated to alternative music, originally aired from 1986 through 2000 before meeting its maker for the first time. It was then resuscitated for placement on MTV2, where it remained from 2001 through 2003. In recent years, 120 Minutes has served as a music video program of sorts for VH1.

And now, some eight years later, 120 Minutes will return to MTV2 at the end of July. Matt Pinfield will again host the show that will run as a monthly series dedicated to highlighting some of music's best indie artists. The first episode will feature a slew of interviews with the likes of Dave Grohl, PJ Harvey, Dangermouse with Danielle Luppi, Das Racist, and Sleigh Bells. Additionally, the uncensored version of Pearl Jam's "Jeremy" music video will air along with Cults' "Abducted" visuals, among others. OK, MTV, we're in. Just don't go canceling the show again.
