MTV VMA 2011 Nominees Include Tyler, The Creator
The nominations for the 2011 VMAs are here, and Katy Perry is the unsurprising leader of the pack with a potential nine awards up for grabs. Adele is second to Perry in the list, with a total of seven to her name—again, no surprises there—although the Best New Artist category does generate some interest with a nomination for Tyler, the Creator.
Will Tyler make it to the VMAs? If he does it will enliven what looks like a bone-crushingly dull ceremony, although the appearance of Kanye West in seven categories could also spark some talking points. It’s likely Kanye will be on his best behavior, but a few elaborate performances by him would certainly dull the pain of actually watching the VMAs.
