MTV Names Drake's 'So Far Gone' Mixtape Of The Year
This Toronto native earned two Grammy nominations for "Best I Ever Had," a track that first appeared on a mixtape and later on an EP. Now, Drake's critically lauded mixtape So Far Gone receives the Mixtape of the Year award from MTV's Mixtape Daily web-show. He was also named to MTV's Hottest MCs In The Game list a few months ago.
It's kind of wild to think of what he has done without a proper full-length album. I'm talking a nationwide tour, Grammy nomination, and what is likely a ridiculous contract. It's not that he doesn't deserve any of it -- though his work post-So Far Gone has been boring -- and if you have watched any interviews with him, you know Drake comes off as an honest, appreciative guy. But damn, all this from a few mixtapes and an EP?
