Moz Pens Expectedly Poetic Tribute to Deceased Fan

Though he's no stranger to gushing admirers who shower him with flowers or hold on to him for dear life when he's onstage,  Morrissey was particularly touched by one fan so much so that the iconic ex-Smiths frontman was compelled to pen a lengthy tribute to her upon hearing of her death last month.

The rather lengthy, yet touching ode to the late Melinda Hsu, a true devotee who was often singled out by Morrissey at his shows and was handed the mic at times, reads like a page from Moz's songbook, with lines like, "I felt as if I knew Mel because she was always there--regardless of wherever 'there' happened to be; no snowbound landscape too far, no off-the-beaten track too untrekkable...When Mel, and others who are dear to us, depart, we should at least realize as we shuffle along living our small and persecuted lives, how absolutely ridiculous it is to be afraid of anything or anyone on this unhappy planet." But we shan't spoil the rest of Moz's morose, poetic sendoff, which you can read here. [via Spinner
