Daytrotter has another of their signature Sessions up that was recorded during this year's SXSW. This time up it's veteran literate folkie John Darnielle, the main man behind Mountain Goats. Be sure to read the quick intro before the songs. Darnielle comes off as quite surly, even pissing on a wall to express his disdain for all the posturing behind indie's premiere clusterfuck. Darnielle puts in performances of four unreleased tracks: "Pinklon," named after boxer Pinklon Thomas; "Ethiopians," named for the band; the countryish "Red River Valley;" and the reggae cover "Babylon Burning."
