Mountain Goats Cover Styx at Lollapalooza

One of the more memorable moments of Lollapalooza this year was also one of the goofiest. Mountain Goats's frontman John Darnielle teased the audience with an introduction to a cover by "a band that's meant a lot to the Chicago scene." Then, apparently unaware of Wilco, Big Black, or, well, Chicago, he launched into a version of Styx's "Babe." It's pretty standard Mountain Goats, with lots of acoustic guitars and Darnielle's unmistakable vocals. At the end of the song, Darnielle says "This is absolutely the worst part" to audience applause. It's worth a listen - head over to You Ain't No Picasso for the stream.
