What should you do if you're a renowned indie singer-songwriter with major love for a relatively-obscure, new-to-the-scene band? Why, take them on tour with you, of course! Such is the case with John Darnielle, leader of The Mountain Goats (pictured), and the group he hasn't hidden his admiration for lately, Bowerbirds. If you know the Goats but not the Birds, you're really missing out. The North Carolinian folkies will be supporting their recently-released debut Hymns for a Dark Horse, who fans of the pastoral, American Gothic sounds of Grizzly Bear and Sparklehorse definitely should check out.
