Motörhead’s Lemmy Shows You His Apartment In A New Documentary

· by

Ever been curious where Motörhead bassist Lemmy Kilmister lays his head at night? Or what he does with all the portraits that obsessive fans draw? Watch the clip above, from Rolling Stone, where he leads you on a minute-and-a-hald Cribs episode of his Los Angeles apartment. Really, it just looks like an over-stuffed version of the apartment of every stoner metal-head you know.

This is a preview of a scene from Lemmy, a documentary about Lemmy’s life covering his 35-odd years in music and the indelible mark he’s placed on metal. Directors Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski spent three years with Lemmy, went to his childhood home in Wales and interviewed folks like Dave Grohl, Slash and the wrestler Triple H to get some perspective. Really, as much of a caricature as he may be at this point, this guy has been around longer and rocked much harder than anyone you know.

Lemmy will be in select American theatres in January, followed quickly by a DVD release. A new Motörhead album, The Wörld is Yours, is out in the U.K. in December.
