In more Canadian indie rock news, The Most Serene Republic is slated to release its next album, Population, October 2 via bedrock Canuck indie label Arts & Crafts. The album takes its name (and cover art inspiration, surely) from the sprawling suburbs eating up the landscape of the band's hometown, Milton, Ontario. Wow, if sprawl has gotten all the way up to Milton, Ontario, there's no hope for any of us. Population is the follow-up to last year's Underwater Cinematographer.
