The radio show Desert Island Discs is a national institution in the U.K. The show has run since 1942 on Radio 4, and follows a simple format—a public figure is invited on, and has to choose and justify eight pieces of music they would take with them if they were stranded on a desert island.
Morrisseey appeared on the show this past weekend, no doubt relieved to be taking a break from his chaotictouringduties. His choices aren’t surprising for anyone even vaguely familiar with his tastes, although it’s interesting to note that the past three decades seem to have been something of a musical wasteland for the former Smiths singer.
You can listen to a podcast verson of the show here.
